The problem
Most invoicing software is designed for teams, complete with approval flows, multi-currency accounting, and pricing tiers that assume you have a finance department. If you are a designer, developer, consultant, or tradesperson working for yourself, none of that matters. You just need to send a clean, professional invoice and get paid.
The free tools that do exist tend to be ugly, slow, or riddled with upsells. The good ones cost £20–£40 a month, which is hard to justify when invoicing is something you do a handful of times a month.
Why 3docs exists
3docs was built to fill that gap. It is UK-first by design: HMRC-compliant invoice numbers, VAT-registered workflows, GBP-native, sort codes and account numbers in the payment details. The things that matter for a sole trader in Britain are front and centre. The things that don’t are nowhere to be found.
Your first three invoices are free, no card required. If you invoice more often, a Pro subscription is £9 a month, less than a takeaway coffee. There is also a pay-as-you-go option at £3 per invoice send if you only need it occasionally.

Your data is yours
Your data isn't sold or used to profile you for ads. Analytics only run for logged-in users who've accepted our terms; if you're just browsing, nothing is tracked.
Transparent pricing
The free tier is genuinely free, not a crippled demo. The paid tier is a fair price for a tool that saves you time every month. No surprise charges.
UK-focused means UK-quality
We are not a US product with a GBP currency toggle bolted on. HMRC compliance, UK date formats, UK bank details: all built in from day one, not bolted on later.
Who runs it
3docs is an independent product built and maintained in Nottingham, England. No venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. Just a tool that needs to be useful enough for people to pay for it. Which is, honestly, a pretty healthy incentive to keep it good.
